‘No Soap for You!’: Ellie’s Dish Soap Eggs Disaster and Mike’s Ego Meltdown Push Daisy to the Brink on BDDU S4E11

Below Deck Down Under Season 4 Episode 11 delivered one of the most disastrous charters yet, with two catastrophic service fails that perfectly illustrated how long-simmering issues finally boiled over.

Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher, who has been holding the interior together all season, looked completely broken by the end of this episode.

The low point came during breakfast service. Ben asked Ellie to finish his scrambled eggs with black pepper and oil. Instead, Ellie grabbed the wrong squeeze bottle and doused the eggs heavily with Dawn dish soap.

Guests immediately recoiled—“Literally, it tastes like Dawn.” Primary Tyler even fed a spoonful to Ben, who rushed back to the galley in panic.

Ellie turned white, convinced she was about to be fired. Ben tried to take partial blame for unlabeled bottles, but the mistake was pure Ellie: distracted and unfocused once again. Captain Jason had to personally apologize upstairs while the guests joked about lowering their tip.

This wasn’t an isolated kitchen error.Ellie’s pattern of letting personal drama affect her work has been building since the very first charters.

Her inability to compartmentalize reached new heights this episode when, right after João tried (and failed) to clearly friend-zone her following their kiss last week, Ellie still believed they were “on the same page” and decided to bake him a birthday cake instead of focusing on actual breakfast prep.

Meanwhile, Mike Durrant’s ego continued its dangerous growth. He bragged about taking a “two-to-three-hour break” and then argued with Daisy when she asked him to concentrate on cleaning, snapping that he had “cleaned the whole boat today” — as if that wasn’t literally his job.

Daisy warned in her confessional that Mike’s developing ego is going to cause a “f*cking problem.” That problem arrived during the drag-themed dinner surprise. Tyler had secretly smuggled a makeup artist on board.

Daisy and Eddy worked hard to keep it hidden, but Mike casually asked the guests, “Was there a makeup artist on board, I heard?” The secret was instantly ruined. Mike’s face went white as he realized what he’d done, then tried to cover by making pacts of silence with every guest and lying to Daisy.

The drag fashion show itself was a success (Eddy slayed as Edwina), but the constant behind-the-scenes messiness — Alesia still stirring drama with Jenna and Eddy, Ellie missing João’s signals, and Mike refusing to help a slammed Alesia — left Daisy “hanging on by a thread.”

With Captain Jason already threatening changes after last week’s tense tip meeting, this charter may finally force the captain to act.

The interior team’s collapse didn’t happen overnight — it’s the direct result of ten episodes of unchecked distractions, ego clashes, and failing communication finally catching up.

Below Deck Down Under Season 4 airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo, streaming next day on Peacock. Was Ellie’s soap eggs or Mike’s surprise blunder the bigger disaster this week? Sound off in the comments!
