Kelsey vs Rosie Feud Explodes Over Instagram Snub on RHORI Episode 5
Kelsey was already over Rosie.
By the time the group boarded the schooner for Jack’s birthday celebration in RHORI Episode 5, Kelsey’s irritation had reached a boiling point — and a seemingly tiny issue pushed her over the edge.
What started as a grudge over a missed Instagram tag turned into a full-blown confrontation in the middle of the water, proving once again that in Rhode Island, nothing is too small to fight about.
The Haircut Snub That Started It All
During a one-on-one moment with Ashley at her wealthy boyfriend’s mansion (complete with its own home salon), Kelsey finally spilled exactly why she can’t stand Rosie.
When Kelsey did Rosie’s hair, Rosie never tagged her on social media. But every other time Rosie gets her hair done? She tags the stylist immediately.
To Kelsey, this wasn’t an accident — it was a deliberate slight.
She told Ashley, “Everyone knows how important social media is for business.” As a former Miss Rhode Island trying to build her own brand and move away from being a “lady of leisure,” Kelsey saw the missing tag as Rosie being threatened by her and intentionally withholding support.
This grudge had clearly been building since the earlier episodes. After the rail bike meltdown in Episode 4 and multiple tense group moments, Kelsey was now at what fans are calling full “b*tch eating crackers” mode — where even the smallest things Rosie does annoy her.
The Schooner Showdown
Rosie invited the ladies onto the boat to celebrate her friend Jack’s birthday (with his husband Anthony also connected to the group). It was supposed to be a fun afternoon sail.
Instead, Kelsey sat right next to Rosie and brought up the haircut issue head-on.
Rosie immediately went on the defensive. She said she didn’t post because Kelsey never took any pictures. She accused Kelsey of just looking for problems with her and insisted she’s been nothing but nice.
Kelsey fired back that it’s about basic support — Rosie tags every other hairstylist, so why not her?
Ashley tried to play peacemaker, asking if Rosie could make it up to Kelsey somehow. But Kelsey wasn’t having it. She walked away, leaving Rosie emotional.
Rosie later cried so hard she ruined her makeup, telling the group she feels like she gets “punched in the face” every single time she hangs out with them. She called the others “mean girls” who will dislike her no matter what she does.
Why This Feud Feels So Personal
This isn’t just about a missed Instagram tag. It’s layered with everything that’s happened so far this season.
Kelsey has been navigating major personal changes — admitting she has another boyfriend (Bill), dealing with her complicated main relationship, and trying to figure out her future. Rosie, with her “Nosey Rosie” reputation, has been in the middle of drama since the premiere (the “shut the f*ck up” fight with Jo-Ellen, the rail bike pot-stirring in Episode 4).
Now Kelsey sees Rosie as fake and performative, even accusing her of exaggerating about her home size and putting on a persona.
The boat setting made everything more intense. With everyone trapped on the water together, there was nowhere to escape the tension. Meanwhile, Rulla and Jo-Ellen were having their own heavy one-on-one earlier, and the polo match later brought even more chaos.
Where This Leaves the Group
By the end of the schooner day, the Kelsey-Rosie feud felt more solidified than ever. Kelsey’s “b*tch eating crackers” energy suggests she’s done giving Rosie the benefit of the doubt.
Rosie, for her part, looked genuinely hurt and exhausted from constantly defending herself.
With the group already fractured — Alicia’s flip-flopping, Rulla’s marriage denial reaching new levels at the polo match, and Liz trying to play mediator — this new rift between Kelsey and Rosie adds even more fuel to the fire.
Will they be able to move past a missed tag, or is this the beginning of a season-long war between the two?
One thing’s clear after Episode 5:
Even on a beautiful schooner ride, the waters in Rhode Island stay ice cold.
