Chronically Late Dorit Kemsley Garnered Mixed Reviews For Book Tour Signings Being Held On ‘Dorit Standard Time’

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley is leaning all the way into her reputation for chronic lateness — and fans are serving up a mix of laughs, eye-rolls, and side-eye.

The 49-year-old reality star announced her upcoming book tour for her memoir Unburdened, set for release on June 2, 2026. In true Dorit fashion, she listed every event with flexible “-ish” start times and proudly branded them as taking place on “DST (Dorit Standard Time).”

Dorit shared the tour dates on Instagram, including:

  • Barnes & Noble at The Grove, Los Angeles – May 31, 2PM-ish
  • The BookMark Shoppe, Brooklyn, NY – June 2, 6PM-ish
  • Additional stops in New York and beyond with similarly vague timings

The caption and graphic explicitly noted: “All events will be held on Dorit Standard Time.”

The move instantly went viral, with Bravo fans divided between finding it hilarious and self-aware, and others calling it disrespectful to ticket holders who expect punctuality.

Many supporters praised Dorit for owning her brand:

  • “This is very clever of Dorit to lean into the bit… but it’s also an insurance policy so fans won’t get mad when she’s extremely late,” one commenter wrote.
  • “You can never make me hate her,” another declared.
  • “Dorit Standard Time is taking me out 😂”

Critics, however, were less forgiving:

  • “She’s chronically late and now she’s bragging about it?”
  • “Respect people’s time. This isn’t cute anymore.”
  • Some questioned whether the book itself would even be ready, with jokes flying about “a book tour for a book that’s not written.”

The response has been overwhelmingly mixed, perfectly mirroring Dorit’s polarizing presence on RHOBH.

Dorit’s Signature Style

Dorit has long been teased (and roasted) on the show for her tardiness — from fashionably late entrances to multi-hour delays at group events. By turning the joke on herself, she’s attempting to transform a frequent criticism into marketable charm ahead of her memoir launch.

Unburdened is described as a candid look at her life, marriage, divorce from Paul “PK” Kemsley, and personal growth after nine seasons on Bravo.

Will Fans Show Up… On Time?

Pre-orders and tickets are currently available, with book purchases required for entry at most signings. Whether fans will happily wait on Dorit Standard Time or end up frustrated remains to be seen once the tour kicks off at The Grove on May 31.

As one fan perfectly summed it up: “We already know she’s going to be late… at least now we’ve been warned.”
