“Be Nice, Kristen”: Brandon Oversteps Again at Brittany’s Pool Party and Triggers Major Jax 2.0 Flashbacks

In The Valley Season 3 Episode 5, Brittany Cartwright’s pool party re-do was supposed to be a fun reset. Instead, it became a pressure cooker of drama — and Brittany’s new boyfriend Brandon Hanson made sure he was right in the middle of it.

While Kristen was opening up about her frustrations with Janet (right in the middle of Janet’s own emotional “10 against one / hive mentality” breakdown), Brandon decided it was his moment to play referee.

He jumped in and lectured Kristen: “Be nice, Kristen. Be your sweet, lovable self, for your love of Brittany, ’cause it stresses Brittany out.”

The entitlement was off the charts. Kristen shut it down perfectly in her confessional: “Brandon has a very tiny lane in Brittany’s life. And he needs to stay in it. Like, mind your business, bro.”

This wasn’t an isolated incident. It was the latest chapter in a clear pattern. Back in Episode 3 at Nia and Danny’s housewarming, Brandon immediately inserted himself into the Michelle-Jasmine drama, gossiping and stirring the pot.

In Episode 4, when Brittany proudly announced she was officially his girlfriend, Jasmine and Kristen were visibly alarmed, with Jasmine delivering the unforgettable line: “Pop the p*ssy, but let’s not pop labels.”

Even earlier, in Episode 2, Zack gave Brittany the clearest warning possible during their heartfelt talk in Cruz’s sensory room: Brandon has three kids by two different women, lives hours away, and exhibits major love-bombing similarities to Jax. Brittany pushed back, insisting he was different.

Yet at the pool party, he was doing the exact same Jax-like things — overstepping boundaries, inserting himself into conflicts, and adding stress to the woman he claims to care about.

The timing made it worse. The party was already heavy: Janet was in tears about feeling ganged up on, Kristen was venting to Zack about Luke not respecting her wishes, and Brittany was once again stuck in the middle trying to keep the peace. Brandon’s need to “handle” Kristen only amplified the tension.

Brittany has worked hard this season on her glow-up — the mommy makeover, focusing on Cruz’s progress, and trying to move forward after Jax. But watching her defend Brandon while he repeats the same chaotic patterns is painful. Fans have seen this story before, and the red flags are flashing bright.
