Maddi Reveals Major Fertility Fears to Joe — Opens Up About Health Issues and Egg Freezing

Maddi Reese just got extremely real about her future with Joe — and it’s heavier than anyone expected.

During a quiet couple’s massage in Punta Cana on Southern Hospitality Season 4 Episode 10, Maddi opened up to Joe about her deep fears surrounding infertility. While preparing for her big international DJ set, she dropped an emotional bombshell about her health struggles.

Maddi revealed she has celiac disease, IBS, and GERD, plus a strong family history of fertility issues. She admitted she’s genuinely scared she might not be able to have biological children. She’s already had bloodwork done to check her fertility and is seriously considering freezing her eggs as a precaution.

“I’m scared,” Maddi confessed during the intimate moment. She told Joe she really wants this international tour to take off, but she’s also thinking long-term about starting a family.

Joe, to his credit, was incredibly supportive. He reassured her that he wants to build a future together no matter what and promised to be by her side through it all. He also opened up about wanting to figure out his own path — joking that he might become a stay-at-home dad TikToker — so he can provide for their future family.

This conversation feels like a big step for the couple. Just episodes ago, Joe was throwing Maddi a surprise pirate yacht party she didn’t want and dealing with his own quarter-life crisis and drinking concerns. Now they’re talking about egg freezing, fertility tests, and building a life together.

Maddi has always been the more grounded one in the relationship, constantly holding Joe accountable while chasing her DJ dreams. Seeing her vulnerable about something as personal as fertility adds a new, mature layer to their storyline this season.

The couple has been through a lot — from Joe’s benders to Maddi questioning if she’s enabling him. This Punta Cana heart-to-heart shows they’re at least trying to grow together and face real adult fears.

But with Maddi’s health challenges and Joe still figuring out his career and stability, will they be able to handle whatever the future holds?

For now, Maddi has Joe’s support — but the pressure of her upcoming DJ set and these fertility worries is clearly weighing on her.

Southern Hospitality airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock.
