Luke Eisner Joins Kiernan Shipka and Cole Sprouse in Amazon MGM Rom-Com ‘Goodbye Girl’

Amazon MGM Studios has bolstered the cast of its upcoming romantic comedy Goodbye Girl with the addition of Luke Eisner in a key supporting role, Deadline exclusively reported on March 16, 2026.

Eisner, best known for his breakout in Netflix’s Tall Girl series and roles in Do Revenge and Metal Lords, joins leads Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, The Last Showgirl) and Cole Sprouse (Riverdale, The Rivals of Amziah King).

The trio headlines the Gulfstream Pictures production, which wrapped filming in New Orleans earlier this month.

Directed by Oran Zegman (Honor Society), the film follows Jess (Shipka), a professional “heartbreaker” hired by a timid bride to end her engagement by dumping the groom (Sprouse) just days before the wedding.

True to rom-com form, Jess botches the breakup and unexpectedly falls for the jilted groom, sparking chaos and romance.

The ensemble already features a strong lineup including Natalia Dyer (Stranger Things), David Iacono, Megan Mullally, Alan Ruck, Zosia Mamet, Catherine Cohen, Andrew Bachelor, and Anthony Keyvan.

Eisner, alongside fellow recent additions Eli Brown (Ginny & Georgia) and Odeya Rush (The Giver), rounds out undisclosed supporting characters in this fresh, modern take on love and mishaps.

Production kicked off in February 2026 in New Orleans, with the script penned by Danielle Hoover and David Monahan. The project marks another high-profile rom-com for Amazon MGM, following a wave of feel-good streaming titles.

Fans of Shipka and Sprouse are buzzing about the pairing—two young stars with massive teen-drama followings stepping into lighter, comedic territory. Eisner’s charming, boy-next-door vibe is expected to add spark to the ensemble dynamics.

While no release date has been announced yet, Goodbye Girl is eyeing a Prime Video premiere later in 2026 or early 2027. As Hollywood leans into escapist rom-coms amid industry shifts, this one promises laughs, heart, and a clever twist on heartbreak-for-hire.

Stay tuned for updates on this budding rom-com gem—could it be the next binge-worthy hit?
