Everything You Need to Know About The Four Seasons Season 2
The beloved Netflix comedy is officially returning — here’s the premiere date, cast updates, and what to expect from the group’s next trip around the sun.
If the Season 1 finale of The Four Seasons left you clutching your drink in shock, you’re not alone — and the good news is, you won’t have to wait much longer for answers. Netflix has officially confirmed that the beloved comedy-drama is returning for a second season, with a premiere date now locked in: May 28, 2026.
Created by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield, the series — an adaptation of Alan Alda’s beloved 1981 film — became one of Netflix’s breakout comedy hits of 2025, debuting at No. 1 on the English TV list for its first two weeks and clocking up 24.4 million views. Now the whole gang is packing their bags again. Here’s everything we know so far.
The Premiere Date Is Set
Mark your calendars: Season 2 officially premieres on Netflix on May 28, 2026. Production kicked off on September 24, 2025, and wrapped in mid-December — a tight, efficient shoot that reflects the show’s intimate, character-driven nature. The spring premiere window keeps in line with the original season’s May debut, which clearly worked in the show’s favour.
Who’s Returning (And Who Isn’t)
Almost the entire core cast is back. Tina Fey (Kate), Will Forte (Jack), Kerri Kenney-Silver (Anne), Colman Domingo (Danny), Marco Calvani (Claude), and Erika Henningsen (Ginny) are all confirmed to return.
The notable absence is Steve Carell — whose character Nick met a dramatic end in the Season 1 finale — though the door hasn’t been completely closed on flashback appearances.
Joining the group for Season 2 is Steven Pasquale, cast in a recurring role as Mark Brett — described as a new friend the gang meets during a summer vacation at the Jersey shore. It’s a tantalising addition that hints at fresh dynamics and potential complications for the tightly-knit friend group.
What’s the Story This Time?
The Season 1 finale dropped several major storylines that Season 2 will need to untangle: Ginny’s pregnancy with Nick’s child, the unresolved tension in Kate and Jack’s marriage, and Danny’s health scare. Most intriguingly, the unlikely bond between Ginny and Anne — two women unexpectedly tied together by a man who is no longer there — looks set to become a central thread.
Co-showrunner Tracey Wigfield has spoken openly about the creative opportunities ahead: the idea of Ginny being fully folded into the friend group — “really tied in there,” as she put it — because she and Anne will be raising children who are siblings gives the writers plenty of rich material to mine.
Why Fans Can’t Wait
Part of what made The Four Seasons resonate so deeply with audiences is its rare willingness to treat middle-aged relationships — friendships, marriages, second acts — with both honesty and warmth. Fey has described the show as a “love letter to long-term relationships,” and that emotional core is clearly what kept viewers coming back week after week.
The creators themselves summed it up best in their renewal statement: “We are so grateful that audiences worldwide share our love of cosy sweaters, drinks by the ocean, and picking fights in a hot tub.” If Season 1 was any indication, Season 2 will deliver all of that — and then some.
