Traitors Winner Rob Rausch Mugged a Mugger in Paris… Then Kept the Cash
This is still very much the year of Rob Rausch. Fresh off his dominant win on Season 4 of The Traitors — where he betrayed fellow Traitor Eric Nam and walked away with the entire $220,800 prize pot — the Alabama snake wrangler is proving he’s full of surprises.
While appearing on Cosmopolitan’s Blind Date podcast, Rob dropped one of the wildest first-date stories in recent reality TV history.
The setup was innocent enough: Rob was studying abroad in Paris. He and a girl he barely knew (just friends, he insists) grabbed a bottle of wine to watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night. Then chaos struck.
“Someone comes up and they’re like, ‘Someone just stole her purse!’” Rob recalled. “I look over… he’s sprinting.”
What happened next sounds like a movie scene. Rob, who claims he’s “really fast,” took off after the thief. The mugger reached a wire fence and started climbing.
Rob didn’t hesitate — he jumped clear over it, grabbed the guy by the hood, yanked him back down, and demanded everything.
“He had like five phones, a bunch of cash…” Rob said. He handed the stolen purse and phones back, but kept the cash. Classic Traitor energy, even before The Traitors existed.
The girl? They went their separate ways after the adrenaline wore off. She apparently told him, “I’m so glad I’m with the only person from Alabama in Paris tonight.”
Rob, ever the gentleman (sort of), later told host Willa Bennett he’s focusing on clear communication in his current relationship — which he confirmed exists but keeps mostly private. He even met his girlfriend in a bookstore, proving he has layers beyond fence-jumping heroics and strategic backstabs.
Whether he’s catching snakes in Alabama or chasing down criminals in Paris, Rob Rausch continues to keep everyone guessing. Just don’t let him near your purse… or your prize pot.
The Traitors is streaming on Peacock.
