12-Year-Old James Miller Stuns on Britain’s Got Talent with Epic ‘Defying Gravity’ Audition – Fans Demand Golden Buzzer!
Britain’s Got Talent delivered another unforgettable moment tonight as 12-year-old James Miller from Rye, East Sussex, took the stage and absolutely soared with a breathtaking performance of “Defying Gravity” from the hit musical Wicked.
The young singer, who appeared nervous at first while introducing himself—”My name is James. Um, I’m 12 years old and live in Rye, Sussex”—quickly transformed the room.
Accompanied by his supportive family (mom, dad, brother, nan, and granddad), James launched into the iconic, high-note-heavy song with remarkable control, power, and emotion. He hit every soaring note flawlessly, building to an explosive finish that left the judges and audience in awe.
Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and KSI—along with guest judge Stacey Solomon in parts of the episode—gave him a full standing ovation. One judge exclaimed it felt “like watching a Disney kid show,” while another joked about the “little sausage” packing such a massive voice.
The panel was starstruck, praising his incredible range and stage presence for someone so young. James received unanimous four yes votes to advance, but surprisingly, no one pressed the Golden Buzzer—prompting fans online to flood comments with “He should have won the Golden Buzzer!” and calls for him to go all the way.
The audition, which aired in Episode 4 (filmed in Birmingham and Blackpool), has already exploded online.
The official BGT YouTube clip racked up over 116K views within hours, and Facebook teasers hit hundreds of thousands of views and reactions.
James, who trains at Madfish Stage School, showcased why he’s being hailed as a future West End or musical theatre star—his home-schooled background and passion for demanding songs like this one made the performance even more inspiring.
This comes amid a strong series for young talents on BGT 2026, following Golden Buzzer winners like wheelchair aerialist Paul Nunnari and magician Rafferty Coope.
James’ audition joins tonight’s lineup of highlights, including card-throwing wizard Aditya Kodmur’s high-energy challenge with KSI.
