Jack Whitehall Gears Up for Historic BRIT Awards Hosting in Manchester Amid Sketch Drama and Personal Milestones

London, February 23, 2026 – British comedian, actor, and presenter Jack Whitehall is set to make history as he hosts the 2026 BRIT Awards for the sixth time, with the ceremony relocating to Manchester’s Co-op Live arena on Saturday, February 28—the first time in nearly 50 years the event has moved north from London.

Whitehall, 37, announced his return in a cheeky “Ode to Manchester” video shared across BRITs’ social channels, reminiscing about his wild university days in the city—including a memorable tale of a stolen front door.

“Manchester holds a very special place in my heart,” he said in a promotional clip, promising more “happy memories” while leading the charge for the awards broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX.

Fresh off appearances on The Jonathan Ross Show (February 21), Whitehall revealed backstage prep challenges, including a rejected comedy sketch involving Harry Styles. He pitched ideas poking fun at Styles’ lengthy music hiatus, but the singer’s team issued a firm “hard no,” deeming it “inappropriate.”

Styles will perform “Aperture,” the lead single from his upcoming fourth album Kiss All The Time, marking his first live show since 2023. Whitehall also shared a past anecdote about Jared Leto once trying to rewrite his autocue intro.

The multi-talented star recently starred in Peacock’s The ‘Burbs, a TV adaptation of the classic film where he plays Rob, a young father with a sinister edge—debuting February 8, 2026. In an Esquire interview, he described indulging his “dark side” on screen while insisting he’s “a nice guy” off it.

He also teased upcoming personal plans: “I’m getting married! So that’s my next project… three bachelor parties and go and get married.” Whitehall is engaged to model Roxy Horner, with whom he shares a daughter; he has reflected on past relationships, admitting he “messed up” with ex-girlfriend Gemma Chan (now with Dominic Cooper).

On the comedy front, Whitehall announced his new UK arena tour, Bad Influence, kicking off in early 2027 with dates in Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh, and more. Tickets went on sale February 20 via Ticketmaster.

As the BRITs approach—featuring performers like Olivia Dean and Lola Young (tied for most nominations)—Whitehall’s blend of sharp wit, hosting experience, and relatable charm positions him perfectly to deliver another memorable night. Fans can expect his signature banter, celebrity roasts (with limits), and celebration of British music in a fresh northern setting.

With a packed schedule of hosting, acting, touring, and impending nuptials, 2026 is shaping up as a banner year for the ever-versatile Jack Whitehall.
