'Heated Wizardry' SNL Sketch: Finn Wolfhard's Harry Potter Parody with Jason Momoa as Hagrid Goes Viral

‘Heated Wizardry’ on SNL: Finn Wolfhard’s Steamy Harry Potter Spoof Has Fans Talking

Finn Wolfhard’s first time hosting Saturday Night Live on January 17, 2026, gave us one of the episode’s wildest sketches: “Heated Wizardry”, a hilarious parody that mashed up the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series with the buzzy gay romance show Heated Rivalry.

The pre-taped bit started like a normal teaser for the new Harry Potter TV adaptation—then quickly flipped the script. It announced the show had been “hastily rewritten after the success of a certain other HBO show,” turning it into “Heated Wizardry”—a steamy, romantic take on the wizarding world where everyone is “18+” and Hogwarts feels like college.

Finn Wolfhard played Harry Potter, while Ben Marshall stepped in as Ron Weasley. The two start as Quidditch rivals (instead of hockey players like in Heated Rivalry), but sparks fly right away. It begins with a classic wand-drop moment: Ron picks up Harry’s wand and says, “It’s lovely, by the way.”

Harry replies, “I’d love to see yours sometime,” and Ron adds, “You would.” From there, the sketch dives into flirty owl messages, secret hookups under the Invisibility Cloak, and teasing each other on broomsticks.

Things get even funnier during a “sexually charged” Quidditch warm-up: Harry zooms by showing he’s wearing no pants, and the two fumble around under the cloak while Hermione tries (and fails) to keep Harry focused on the game.

The cast was stacked with spot-on impressions: James Austin Johnson as a shocked-then-supportive Professor Snape (he takes points from Gryffindor for mooning, then awards “10 points for equality” after they win together).

Ashley Padilla as Professor McGonagall, Kenan Thompson as Alastor Moody, and the biggest surprise—Jason Momoa as a fabulous “Old Queen Hagrid”. Hagrid clocks their romance instantly, telling Harry, “You’re a homo, Harry,” and later quipping about Ron being “one long bottom” (a Neville Longbottom pun that had the audience roaring).

The trailer even included a fake J.K. Rowling quote: “I am not a part of this,” plus a note that it’s “the first series written entirely by girls who wear tails.” It was packed with wand puns, naked Quidditch teases, and over-the-top fan-fiction energy.

Fans loved how perfectly timed it was—riding the hype for HBO’s Harry Potter reboot and the viral success of Heated Rivalry.

Clips spread fast online, with people calling it “epic,” “chaotic genius,” and one of the best sketches of the night. Finn looked right at home in the wizard robes, and Jason Momoa’s cameo as sassy Hagrid stole even more laughs.

If you missed it, “Heated Wizardry” is already one of the most talked-about bits from Finn’s debut episode. Pure SNL magic—funny, bold, and totally unexpected.
