Pinky Cole on RHOA: Angela Oakley Is “Pinocchio,” Husband Laughs Off “Wife in the Basement” Rumor
Pinky Cole Calls Angela Oakley “Pinocchio” Over Shamea Morton Cheating Claims, Addresses “Wife in the Basement” Rumor & More on RHOA
Real Housewives of Atlanta newcomer Pinky Cole is not holding back. The Slutty Vegan founder went on the offensive during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, calling out co-star Angela Oakley for spreading what she believes are false cheating allegations against Shamea Morton.
Pinky directly addressed Angela’s claims that Shamea has been unfaithful with Atlanta Hawks and Falcons players.
“I just don’t see it,” Pinky said. “Shamea has a very handsome husband, and you don’t play with people’s marriages like that. I’m married, right? And you just don’t play with people’s marriages like that, so I don’t believe it, but I’m also not in their bedroom.”
She went further, dubbing Angela “Pinocchio” after the latter appeared to walk back parts of her story during a group discussion.
“I was looking at Angela like Pinocchio after she said that… it looked like Shamea was telling the truth, and Angela kind of reverted and said, ‘Well, she didn’t say that like I said that,’” Pinky explained. “I used to work for Maury, so I’m like, okay, I can spot a liar from a mile away. I’m like, ‘let’s get the lie detector test right now!’”
The “Hardest Part” of Filming RHOA
Pinky also opened up about the personal toll of sharing her financial struggles on the show. The entrepreneur, who filed for bankruptcy amid Slutty Vegan’s challenges, admitted it’s been difficult to keep discussing the topic.
“The hardest part about it is that people are tired of hearing about it, and I’m tired of talking about it,” she shared. “But this is my real life, and that’s why I think that it’s perfect to be here — because somebody is looking at my story like, ‘Okay, I can go through bankruptcy and a restructure.’”
“Wife in the Basement” Rumor & Husband’s Reaction
Pinky directly shut down Angela’s on-screen claim that she has a “wife in the basement.”
“The only thing that’s in the basement is a hot water heater… and some old boxers,” she quipped, adding that the phrase actually inspired the title of her new book, Wife in the Basement.
When asked how her husband, Derrick Hayes, reacted to the wild rumor, Pinky said he took it in stride.
“He laughed. I mean, he would love a wife… I think every man would want a wife in a damn basement,” she joked.
Status with Kelli Ferrell & K. Michelle Takedown Tease
On her current relationship with Kelli Ferrell (often referred to as Kelli Porter in fan discussions), Pinky kept it simple: “Kelli and I are cool.” She added that she doesn’t have the energy for additional cast conflicts given everything else going on in her life.
Regarding K. Michelle’s claims of being targeted or set up by the group, Pinky teased upcoming drama at the reunion.
“We got to see the reunion. I think there’s gonna be some stuff that’s gonna unfold at the reunion,” she hinted.
Pinky also revealed that Porsha Williams gave her the best advice before filming: “Don’t self-produce… Just be yourself.” Though she admitted she may have been “a little too open” this season.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17 continues Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo, with the highly anticipated reunion on the horizon.
