“Miss Triggered”: Lala Snaps at Danny for Being Aggressive Toward Nia During Pageant Prep
In Season 3 Episode 7 of The Valley, Lala Kent went full protector mode and delivered one of the most satisfying call-outs of the season.
During the “Triggers and Tiaras” pageant prep, “Dark-Side Danny” returned in full force. While Nia was stressfully trying to do his makeup and wig, Danny barked orders, criticized her every move, and reminded her “I don’t lose.”
When Lala stepped in and said his tone was making her “very triggered,” Danny mockingly dubbed himself “Miss Triggered” and continued the behavior. That’s when Lala snapped.
“Hey, Daniel, f*cking knock it off, dog,” Lala fired back. “You were being aggressive and disrespectful to your wife, so I shut it down.” She even questioned how he speaks to Nia behind closed doors. Jesse later admitted in his confessional that Danny had been drinking and was “definitely ordering her around.”
This wasn’t a one-off moment. Lala’s strong reaction makes even more sense after her deeply emotional beach conversation with Michelle in Episode 6, where she opened up about still grieving the loss of her father. Seeing Danny treat Nia poorly clearly hit a nerve.
The behavior fits a clear pattern we’ve seen all season. In Episode 2, Danny dismissed Nia’s burnout and turned her emotional breakdown into a sex joke.
Their clashes continued through the housewarming in Episode 3 and the safari day in Episode 5, where he showed little empathy while Nia struggled with the baby in the heat. Now in Episode 7, his aggressive pageant attitude finally got called out publicly.
Hot Take: This “Miss Triggered” moment exposed deeper issues in Danny and Nia’s marriage. Lala did what a lot of viewers have wanted to see — someone actually holding Danny accountable instead of letting his snarky, controlling side slide as “just banter.” While it’s not her marriage, stepping in showed real sisterhood, especially after her own vulnerable moments this season.
With the San Diego trip still going strong and more drama clearly coming, this confrontation may be the spark that forces the group (and Danny) to address how he treats Nia.
