Carl’s Big Soft Bar Launch — But Kyle Is Salty About No Loverboy
Carl Radke had every reason to celebrate — and Kyle Cooke still found a way to make it about himself.
In Summer House Season 10 Episode 13, Carl finally hosted the soft launch for Soft Bar, his passion project that he’s been grinding on for a full year.
The event brought together current cast members and several Summer House alums in a full-circle “reunion of reunions” moment. Carl was proud, emotional, and rightfully soaking in the success.
But not everyone was fully in celebration mode.
Kyle arrived and immediately noticed that non-alcoholic Loverboy was nowhere to be found on the menu. In his confessional, he didn’t hold back:
“Things were set in motion. For me to show up and there’s just no Loverboy, I’m like… damn. I don’t know if this is punishment for not investing, but it hurts.”
The shade was subtle but unmistakable. Kyle felt snubbed.
A Friendship That’s Been Cracking All Season
This tension didn’t come out of nowhere. It’s been building for weeks.
In Episode 9, Carl directly confronted Kyle for not investing in Soft Bar, pointing out that he had believed in Kyle and put money into Loverboy when he was broke.
Kyle responded with his usual “woe is me” financial panic, saying he was tapped out and bankruptcy was a real possibility. Carl walked away feeling dismissed and frustrated.
Then in Episode 10, Carl was deeply hurt when Kyle forgot to reach out on the anniversary of his brother’s passing. That slight cut deep, and Carl told Bailey he wanted to say “f*ck you” but couldn’t bring himself to do it.
Now, at the moment that should have been Carl’s victory lap, Kyle’s ego and insecurity are once again taking center stage. Even though Carl has been one of Kyle’s most loyal friends for years, the support has never felt mutual.
The House Notices the Rift
The rest of the group can feel the strain between the two longtime friends. Jesse has been vocal about it, noting the power imbalance in their dynamic — Kyle as the boss, Carl as the “beta.” Carl himself told producers he feels like if he’s not Kyle’s friend, then who does Kyle really have?
Meanwhile, the soft launch itself was a success. Lindsay even gave Carl a sweet “soft” teddy bear as a gift, and Sharon (Lindsay’s ex-mother-in-law) made an appearance, keeping things entertaining. But Kyle’s visible annoyance over the missing Loverboy cast a shadow over Carl’s big night.
Carl has been patient with Kyle through business stress, marriage drama, and personal grief. But this latest moment — Kyle making Carl’s success about his own feelings — feels like it could be the final straw in their friendship.
With the season heading toward its final episodes and the reunion approaching, this simmering rift between Carl and Kyle is becoming one of the most compelling storylines. Carl has poured his heart into Soft Bar. Kyle has been consumed by his own problems with Loverboy and his crumbling marriage to Amanda.
The question now is whether their friendship can survive the growing resentment — or if Carl is finally ready to put himself first.
Summer House airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock. The tension between Carl and Kyle is far from over.
