Is Selling The OC Season 5 Cancelled ? Netflix Pauses Filming on ‘Selling the O.C.’

Trouble is brewing in Orange County. Netflix has reportedly notified the cast of Selling the O.C. that filming for a potential new season will not happen this year, with production on the popular real estate reality series being pushed to the back burner while the network prioritizes its flagship show, Selling Sunset.

According to sources close to production who spoke with TMZ, the delay has nothing to do with internal issues on the O.C. side.

Instead, it’s all about resolving complications on Selling Sunset Season 10, which has faced a significant cast shakeup following the airing of Season 9 in October 2025.

Filming for the flagship series is now expected to begin in late April or early May, effectively bumping Selling the O.C. out of the schedule for the foreseeable future.

A final decision on whether Selling the O.C. will return for Season 5 has not yet been made, but cast members are reportedly concerned that the pause could become permanent. One source told outlets that the spinoff has been “sidelined” as Netflix focuses resources on stabilizing Selling Sunset amid the changes.

Selling the O.C., which follows agents at the Oppenheim Group’s Corona del Mar office, premiered its fourth season on Netflix in November 2025.

That season featured a refreshed cast with several notable exits and some new faces joining returning stars like Alex Hall, Gio Helou, Austin Victoria, Brandi Marshall, and Tyler Stanaland.

The show has always lived in the shadow of its more established sister series, but it built a dedicated fanbase with its mix of luxury listings, office drama, and coastal California vibes.

This isn’t the first time the franchise has seen upheaval. Selling Sunset itself has undergone cast shifts, and Selling the O.C. experienced a wave of departures before Season 4. However, the current hold on production marks the most uncertain moment for the spinoff since its 2022 debut.

Netflix has not issued an official statement on the status of Selling the O.C., and representatives for the series and its creator, Adam DiVello, have not commented publicly on the reports.

Fans have taken to social media with a mix of disappointment and speculation, with some wondering if the network is quietly letting the show fade while doubling down on the original.

For now, viewers can still stream all four seasons of Selling the O.C. on Netflix, along with the latest episodes of Selling Sunset. Whether the Orange County agents will be back with more high-stakes deals and drama remains to be seen—stay tuned for updates as the situation develops.
