Tom Schwartz Reacts to Amanda & West Romance: “There’s a Human Cost”
Tom Schwartz is opening up about the emotional toll of the latest Summer House drama — and why he feels personally guilty about it.
The Vanderpump Rules and The Valley star spoke exclusively to Us Weekly at The Valley Season 3 press event on March 30, 2026 (one day before Amanda Batula and West Wilson confirmed their romance in a joint statement).
Schwartz expressed deep concern for his Bravo friends and admitted he feels conflicted about how much he’s been invested in the gossip.
“Listen, I know we love the drama, but also, those are my friends, and there’s always a human cost there,” Schwartz said. “I don’t want to see them go through what I had to go through.”
He continued: “There’s a lot of love, a lot of history… I hope it’s not crashing down, because they have such a beautiful dynamic in that house.”
Schwartz admitted he had been “sleuthing” and gossiping about the Amanda-West rumors with friends (including The Valley co-star Zach) before the confirmation.
He revealed he was skeptical at first but now feels bad for speculating, knowing the real pain involved — especially after his own very public divorce from Katie Maloney and the fallout from Scandoval.
“I feel guilty because I’ve been doing sleuthing,” he confessed in a separate interview clip. “Me and Zach were talking about it and I’m like… I don’t know how to say this.”
The comments come as the Summer House cast continues to reel from Amanda and West’s confirmed relationship. Sources have said Ciara Miller feels “heartbroken” and “betrayed” (especially after reportedly rekindling things with West), while Kyle Cooke is “pissed” and “blindsided.”
Multiple cast members, including Lindsay Hubbard, Carl Radke, KJ Dillard, and Mia Calabrese, posted cryptic social media messages reacting to the news.
Schwartz, who has remained close with several Summer House stars and even roomed with Kyle and Amanda during Winter House, emphasized that he genuinely cares about the group.
“I like those guys,” he said. “I’m friends with West, I’m friends with Ciara and Kyle and Amanda.”
With Season 10 still airing and more fallout expected on camera, Schwartz’s guilty conscience reflects what many Bravo fans are feeling: the drama is entertaining, but the human cost is real.
Summer House airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock.
