RHOSLC’s Heather Gay Accused of Book Cover Copying by Melanie Blake; Monica Garcia Adds Fuel

Just days after Heather Gay proudly unveiled her upcoming thriller novel Eternal Glow, the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star finds herself engulfed in a fiery new scandal.

The 51-year-old reality star is being brutally called out by British bestselling author Melanie Blake, who has publicly accused Heather’s team of blatantly ripping off the cover of her hit novel Ruthless Women.

In a scathing series of Instagram Stories and X posts on March 24-25, 2026, Melanie, 49, did not hold back. After receiving tens of thousands of DMs from outraged fans, she slammed the cover as “stupid” and “f*cking disappointing.”

“I’ll address this properly tomorrow,” Melanie wrote. “They do say copying is the highest form of flattery, but like millions of fans — I’m not f*cking happy about it.”

She pointed out that Heather’s Eternal Glow cover suspiciously mixes elements from her UK edition and the Czech color scheme of Ruthless Women. Melanie also called out the identical red page lining — a distinctive detail rarely used in books — claiming it was a straight-up copy.

“Even though the stories are entirely different, the cover snatch is f*cking disappointing to say the least,” she fumed.

The controversy exploded further when influencer Georgio Takounakis posted a viral Instagram video declaring, “Heather Gay’s book is not even out yet, and it’s already getting backlash.” He noted that the covers are so similar that “you would absolutely assume they’re by the same author or part of a series.”

While admitting there’s likely no legal recourse because you “can’t own a vibe,” Georgio branded the move “lazy” and a clear failure by Heather’s team to do basic research.

Adding fuel to the fire, Heather’s former RHOSLC castmate Monica Garcia, 42, jumped into the drama. Monica reshared Georgio’s video on her Instagram Story and threw unmistakable shade at Heather by highlighting the “matching red pages.”

Melanie, who is currently filming in Australia, took the opportunity to promote her own wildly successful Ruthless Women series — an international bestseller in nine languages — while sarcastically noting the irony of the situation.

As of March 25, Heather Gay has remained completely silent on the growing backlash. The scandal has dominated reality TV social media, with fans divided between defending Heather and accusing her of trying to ride the coattails of Blake’s proven success.

Heather’s Eternal Glow, described as a dark, satirical thriller set in Utah’s beauty-obsessed Mormon mom scene (inspired by The Substance and FX’s The Beauty), was supposed to be a triumphant moment for the fan-favorite Housewife.

Instead, the early drama has overshadowed the book’s content and left many wondering if this is yet another example of RHOSLC chaos spilling into real life.

The book is currently available for preorder, but the heated debate over its cover shows no signs of slowing down.

This version amps up the drama with stronger language, more tension, heightened emotional words, and a sharper tone while staying factual to the original report. Let me know if you’d like it even spicier!
