‘Wait, What?’ Craig Conover Misunderstands Andy Cohen’s Question in Funny WWHL Moment

A lighthearted moment on Watch What Happens Live turned into a funny case of confusion for Southern Charm star Craig Conover during the post-finale appearance following Season 11.

Craig joined costars Shep Rose and Austen Kroll on the Bravo after-show to discuss the season, and despite tensions between some of the guys throughout the run, the trio appeared in good spirits.

Host Andy Cohen shifted the conversation to one of the newer additions to the cast, asking the group, “Are you guys happy that Whitner [Slagsvol] is in the crowd?”

The question prompted an immediate grimace and look of confusion from Craig, who seemed to take the remark literally—picturing Whitner physically in the studio audience. His facial expression screamed “yikes” as he processed the words, leading to a brief awkward beat.

Austen quickly jumped in to clarify the intent, beginning to praise Whitner’s efforts to integrate into the group. As Austen spoke, realization dawned on Craig, who interrupted with a laugh and admitted, “Oh, I was like, what?”

The panel erupted in laughter, and Andy clarified with a grin, “No, he’s not in this crowd. No, like, he’s on the show.”

Once the chuckles died down, Austen continued, describing Whitner as someone who “consistently called, texted, and showed up,” actively working to become part of the group. “And it’s refreshing,” he added.

The mix-up highlighted a wholesome moment amid the season’s drama, with all three men expressing positive views on Whitner Slagsvol, the lawyer and longtime friend of Shep who joined as a full-time cast member in Season 11.
