Brittany Snow Golden Globes Tease: Major Death in The Hunting Wives Season 2 Script Reaction
Brittany Snow is dropping major hints about the chaos awaiting fans in The Hunting Wives Season 2—and it’s got her literally jumping with shock.
During the 83rd Annual Golden Globes on January 11, 2026, the actress, who stars as Sophie O’Neil in the steamy Netflix drama, spoke to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet about the upcoming season.
When asked about her wildest reaction to reading the scripts, Snow didn’t hold back: “I stood up on my couch! I stood up on my couch. Someone dies. I won’t tell you who. That is a wild play. Wild behavior.”
The revelation confirms that Season 2 will feature at least one major character death, building on the body count from Season 1’s explosive finale.
In the first season (which premiered in July 2025 and became a surprise hit, spending weeks in Netflix’s global Top 10), the twisted tale of obsession, seduction, and murder in the small East Texas town of Maple Brook ended with Sophie killing her husband’s boss’s lover Kyle and dumping his body in a lake—after a chain of killings involving teenager Abby, her mother Starr, Pastor Pete, and Jill.
Snow teased that the new season aims to top that intensity: “Every script is a new adventure. They said that we couldn’t top last year, and somehow I think we are doing it.
I’m surprised. And I even knew what was coming a little bit. So I think people are going to be very shocked, I think people are going to be angry.” She added that viewers will feel “surprised and excited,” though she admitted it’s hard to say if that’s a “good or bad thing.”
Adding fuel to the fire, Snow also hinted at ramped-up sensuality in separate interviews (including with E!), describing Season 2 as “more steamy” with scenes that will “leave people very angry but in a sexy way.”
The series, created by Rebecca Cutter and adapted from May Cobb’s bestselling novel, thrives on its blend of soap-opera scandal and murder mystery, and Snow’s excitement suggests the stakes—and the heat—are only rising.
Production on the eight-episode Season 2 began in November 2025 in Charlotte, North Carolina (standing in for the fictional Maple Brook), with filming expected to wrap by March 2026.
Returning cast includes Snow as Sophie, Malin Ã…kerman as the glamorous and manipulative Margo Banks, Dermot Mulroney as Jed Banks, Evan Jonigkeit as Graham O’Neil, Jaime Ray Newman as Callie, and George Ferrier as Brad.
New additions bring fresh drama: John Stamos as Chase Brylan, Dale Dickey as Zelda Moffitt, Cam Gigandet as Gentle John Moffitt, Kim Matula as Nadia Kelly, and Alex Fitzalan as Lincoln Trout, among others.
The official logline teases Sophie and Margo reuniting over a shared foe and “old secrets” that threaten their futures, promising more twists in their complicated, passionate dynamic.
No official premiere date has been announced yet, but given Season 1’s production-to-release timeline (filmed in 2024, premiered July 2025), expect Season 2 sometime in the first half of 2027 on Netflix.
Snow’s couch-standing moment has fans speculating wildly—who could be next? With alliances shifting and secrets resurfacing, The Hunting Wives Season 2 looks poised to deliver even more scandalous, binge-worthy drama.
